If you paid any attention to our innovation posts (and we know a few of you did because you told us you loved the introduction of this product), then you know we are a huge fan of NovoPsych and it's creator, Ben Buchanan. We asked Ben to share with us a book he'd recommend and we went straight out and purchased it.

Developing and Delivering Practice-Based Evidence

A Guide for the Psychological Therapies

By: Michael Barkham (Editor), Gillian E. Hardy (Editor), John Mellor-Clark (Editor)

Ben said, this book is "a great summary of all the ingredients needed to develop a routine around gathering evidence of treatment efficacy. A well written no-nonsense book with plenty of practical advice and examples. The emphasis on why Routine Outcome Monitoring is so important was ahead of its time, and since this book was written in 2010 the practice of gathering practice-based evidence has got far more efficient with tools like NovoPsych. This book was, in fact, an inspiration for NovoPsych's development"

The idea that we can read a book that was written almost ten years ago and see the progress that innovation and technology have made to help implement practice efficiency gets us excited. We love the insight of inspiration that this book gave Ben to create NovoPsych.

If you haven't looked into NovoPsych yet, do it! Good client attendance, clinical feedback to referral sources and baseline analytics for your client journey are only a few benefits that fall in line with our offerings. Thank you Ben for this suggestion. Just an FYI, when we bought this book, we also bought a box of highlighters!

We can't wait to take in this gold mine of a resource.

Have you read it? Share your thoughts with us!
