A Clinician's Guide to Inspiration

Does anyone else feel as though this word is overused at the moment? We have so many things on social media to "Inspire" us. There are a lot of guru's who are there to help "keep you motivated." Reminding you to be "authentic."

I'll admit, I follow every personal trainer, all the dieticians, and the motivational posts I can. However, when it comes to business, I keep it simple. I use one word to stay on track.

Two years ago my one word was "awe." I wanted to remember that no matter how tedious a business can be, it's important to remind yourself to remember the feeling of awe. Last year my word was hunger. I wanted more focus on my personal health rather than a business perspective. With that said, I was able to mix my personal goals with my professional ones. So "hunger" led me to take on roles in my personal life that allowed me to feel uncomfortable, vulnerable, and even tired. I learned a lot by being hungry last year.

My word this year is "warrior." I feel as though the women's movement is gaining in leaps. I'm excited to be apart of this. My generation will have an impact. I don't think we'll have that impact just with women, but also with LGBTQI +, immigration, and our aboriginals. This year, I want to take the last two years worth of learning and apply it, respectfully, graciously, and fearlessly to my next 11 months.

I want to support people. I want to continue to empower the underdog. I want to embrace my natural tendency to be a whirlwind. I want to take that energy and protect the weaker and teach the younger.

What one word will you choose to help define your business this year? How will you use it to help define what you want?
