Marketing Made Easy: Your Website

Writer's picture: Natasha AceNatasha Ace

First, you have a website right? I mean, Google tells me, "There are 4.39 billion internet users in 2019, an increase of 366 million (9 percent) versus January 2018. There are 3.48 billion social media users in 2019, with the worldwide total growing by 288 million (9 percent) since this time last year." (Source) . So you should be playing this game.

Think of it this way, in dating we have the long game, someone we want to date because we know we'd like to spend the rest of our lives with them and the short game, some one who is going to satisfy our now. Your website is not only your voice, but BOTH the long game and the short game. We can't say that about too many relationships, can we?

Now, I know you know this, so I'm not going to break this down entirely, but there are three ways to gain traffic to your website:

1. Search Engine Optimisation - SEO (Organically, i.e. long game)

2. Pay Per Click - PPC (Paid Google, Bing, Yahoo ads, i.e. short game)

3. Affiliate linking (long game / short game)

If you want to understand any of these in more detail, I suggest you start with google and then move to hiring a professional for the full analytics and tracking. What I wanted to say in this post is really to ask you to ask yourself a few questions about your website. Do this simple audit:

When is the last time you reviewed the content?

Do you know who the audience is?

Where is your call to action, how does someone know what to do when they've read your content?

Does your reader walk away saying, this practice can help me?

Remember: our goal with our website is to get those who visit the website to make an enquiry with the practice.

It's not good enough for people to find our website, they must also take action.

We encourage you to understand how your website statistics work. How many people find you? How many people enquire? How long do they stay on your website? It's important to use this data to shape and mould your website to really maximise your practice voice.
