This is the first part of our 11 part series on Client Engagement.
The basics
Engagement is a vital skill for good client outcomes. Often times, we find that clinicians focus on what they feel is working well in their practice subsequently missing some vital information that can help them improve their clinical outcomes. When we work with our clients we encourage them to work on all aspects, the good and the bad. The same holds true for the work clinicians do in their practice.
Mindset is a series of beliefs that humans hold about themselves.
As humans, we may hold a belief that we do not need to change or we may hold a belief that we need to change everything! Ideally, for any client engagement strategies the first thing we need to ensure is the ability to be open-minded.
Exercise:
Write three things you believe you're doing well in terms of engaging your clients. What brings your clients back to you? What allows your clients to work through their client journey with you?
Now, write three things that you can review to see if you can do something different that would allow better client engagement. Review clients who have dropped out after 1-3 sessions. What could have been different in their journey with you? What didn't work for the client?

Our goal at the end of the client engagement series is to help you decrease cancellations and reschedules. We want you to spend less time working outside of the client hours and effectively work smart, not harder.
